Research shows that gambling problems are more prevalent among Jewish youth than in the general population. Not despite our community's values, but in part because of the financial pressures and competitive environments we cultivate. This isn't a moral indictment. It's a call to stop pretending it isn't here.

Right now, in your shul, in your neighborhood, on your block, there are men and women carrying exactly this. They haven't said it out loud yet. Maybe you haven't either.
